It's always been a problem.....not sure if it's bigger now or not.....both my parents and two of my grandparents were alcoholics....I knew two kids in high school that died from drug ODs......a shame really.....weak folks have some really bad habits. So true JB a lot more than years ago and there were many then . . .
They were popular back in the 70s and 80s.....made people feel good. Like opioids today....they started out being prescribed by doctors and the drug companies made a lot of money.....people became addicted.....then they became illegal. Sleep was a symptom.....but most folks took them for the feeling. They (quailudes) are sleeping pills right?
I once did a job in Atlantic City; twice a day I walked through the main floor at Caesar's Palace... never even thought about gambling once.I agree, I have a sibling who have fought with alcoholism and when I asked him to go to casino, he said they'd own his house so he won't go. I'm glad I wasn't born with that gene.
I had an office in Vegas years ago...spent a lot of time here...never was a gambler.....one time watched a high roller at a black jack table lose $200K in about ten minutes....when he ran out of chips....he signed his name and they brought him another $250K......crazy world.I once did a job in Atlantic City; twice a day I walked through the main floor at Caesar's Palace... never even thought about gambling once.
I used to sit in the bar...have a drink....sometimes smoke a cigar and watch the loons....Vegas had many of them.I love black jack but can walk away from the table anytime. I actually haven't been to a casino in years but I'll go back and lose a little or win a little but never a lot of either. I'd called myself a disiplined gambler.
