Twenty Years Of American Blood, Lives, Sweat, Money Down The Drain In Less Than Sixty Days And People Are Saying America Left Afghanistan To Soon.

Come on people where does it say it is America’s responsibility to defend and die for people who will take no action to defend themselves and who surrendered without a fight billions of dollars of United States provided equipment.

I would be curious to see what percentage of the Afghanistan population actually agrees with the Taliban principles. I don't see how a country can be so incapable of establishing an army to defend itself after 20 years of support.

In those twenty years of Americans losing their lives to defend the people of Afghanistan they also trained and equipped with American Tax Dollars a 330,000 person military.

Every American should educate themselves on Afghanistan. They should also stop and realize it is not America responsibility to place the lives of America‘s youth at risk to defend people who will not defend themselves and only want a corrupt government and leaders.

I was reading a summary of this with comments from veterans, over on Reddit. That discussion made more sense than anything in the news.

In summary Afghanistan is a region inhabited by separate tribes. Afghan Army was the best paying employer in the country so everybody enlisted. But they brought their tribalism with them. Still feuding with each other, and everybody having zero patriotism for regions other than where their family lives. Defend Kabul? Where's that? What tribe runs Kabul?

When the US-funded payroll ceased, the army evaporated. Everybody went home. And feigned enthusiasm for the new overlords who rolled in driving rigs provided by the US taxpayers.

Game over.

More proof that we never should have been there. They don't live by Western rules. They never have. They had no will to fight and were using us as a crutch. Reports are that their 'troops' are either just walking away or joining the other side.

Every US life lost there is squarely on Bush/Cheney.

To bad the terrorists that will be trained there won't stay within their borders.

Good job Biden. Even the protege' Obummer knew to keep a presence there.

Rep. McCaul: Biden 'gonna have blood on his hands' for Afghanistan withdrawal
Congressman Michael McCaul, R-Texas, said Biden is "gonna have blood on his hands" after his decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan. The move has prompted the Taliban to move in on the country's capital of Kabul.
"This is gonna be a stain on this president and his presidency. And I think he's gonna have blood on his hands from what they did," the top-ranking official on the House Affairs Committee told CNN 'State of the Union' host Jake Tapper. "They totally blew this one. They completely underestimated the strength of the Taliban."
McCaul argued that Biden "100 percent" owns the Afghanistan situation.
"Once he made the decision, he could have done certain things. He could have planned for it. He could have had a strategy for this, but instead they had no strategy," McCaul added."The consequences from a national security standpoint are severe because now they can say they defeated the United States in Afghanistan, the infidel, just like they defeated the Soviet Union. This will have long-term ramifications."

Same thing as Vietnam. No way to gracefully exit without the victor crowing about it. 20 years of no progress was totally wasted fortune, lives, effort. All to avenge 9/11 which was performed by Saudis. Saudi Bin Laden - trained by Americans - accomplished even more in destabilizing the West than he had hoped for.

iirc The US military could have wiped out al Qaeda Bin Laden and his cadre at Tora Bora.
US military had them.
Bush would not give the order
So they drove out of the country to Pakistan safe and sound.

Could have left Afghanistan after taking out the caravan and brought our troops home.

Bush/ Cheney didn't want Bin Laden Killed then because it would have undermined the new war they planned for Iraq or the magical Caspian sea pipe dream , I mean pipeline....

Today 2 failed states Thousands and thousands of Lives lost . our vets killing themselves at a rate over 20 per day at home,. Somewhere North of 7 trillion dollars spent- Not counting what the VA Needs and should have to help our Vets.

This says Rumsfeld and Franks actually made the call, but can't believe Bush and Cheney weren't consulted

Thanks for posting that.

Schrute, go read it.

It's the Official US Government summary of the events ... that we (some of us) read in the news, at the time.
Some other things Schrute should also read.

"Bush in 2008. It established that U.S. combat forces would withdraw from Iraqi cities by June 30, 2009, and all U.S. combat forces will be completely out of Iraq by December 31, 2011."

.

Trump pushed the lie that Obama and Clinton were the ones.

I suppose if Fox is one's primary news source then they erroneously, and sincerely, believe Trump's Obama/Clinton lie.

But that doesn't make the lie true.

If trump was in office this would be on him. But he's NOT. Shut up and own it.
